What clients say after switching from Turing

Their hiring process is extremely selective. The developer that I work with are on par with devs that cost companies $185,000 a year.

I don't write code. My fear was paying for 'mystery hours'. I love RocketDevs for solving that problem!

Swapped agencies for RocketDevs and it's night and day. Velocity doubled and comms are crisp.

Hired a React+Node dev in 5 days. Shipping faster without burning runway.

I found RocketDevs while searching for how to hire African developers, and I got exactly what I needed. Great in house to help manage my tech startup. These guys really helped me grow while maintaining a lean budget. I highly recommend RocketDevs, great company to find talented developers.

I hired a developer from RocketDevs and he was great. We built my automation software together and I'm impressed at the how incredibly talented this developer is. I'll highly recommend RocketDevs because they're the company every start-up needs when it comes to software development. Amazing job guys.

RocketDevs has been instrumental in helping us scale our development team without breaking the bank. The caliber of developers they offer is impressive, and the cost savings are substantial compared to hiring in-house or using other outsourcing options. Thanks to RocketDevs, we've been able to accelerate our product development timeline and focus on growing our business.

I got to commend RocketDevs on their customer service. My first dev didn't work out and they replaced him within 24 hours.

Weekly demos, zero 'mystery hours'. Best offshore experience I've had in 10 years.

I wanted devs from other regions in Africa. Took a while for me to find a match but it was worth it. and I think they need to expand their pool of devs as well.
Ahmed
I only decided to hire from rocketdevs because I was too occupied to handle the hiring of fiverr and it turned out to be better. The meeting with the project manager was very productive, seeing as I got 2 developers that completely matched my expectations.
Grey M.
I'm not experienced with building software, much less managing contracted developer, however Rocketdevs's platform was surprisingly efficient and distilled the process down to me only having to make the decisions. The initial vetting process was on point.

Where Turing is the stronger choice

No platform wins on every count. These are the places Turing is genuinely the better call, taken from its own published material and from independent reporting, so you can weigh them yourself.

  • Global scale

Turing claims millions of registered developers across 150+ countries. Registered is not the same as vetted and available, but the reach is far wider than ours.

  • AI and data specialization

Turing recruits AI engineers directly and does code-evaluation and benchmarking work with AI labs. For AI and data specialisms, that is the deeper bench.

  • Automated sourcing and assessment

Sourcing and screening are AI-assisted at scale, and third-party sources report shortlists in 24 to 48 hours.

  • Enterprise funding and capacity

Turing announced a $111 million round at a $2.2 billion valuation, taking stated total funding to $225 million. That funds capacity a bootstrapped company does not have.

Questions

RocketDevs vs Turing: common questions

Is RocketDevs a good Turing alternative?

Yes, particularly if you want to see the reasoning behind a match. Turing matches from a very large global developer pool using its own AI systems, and its strengths are real: scale (Turing claims millions of developers across 150+ countries), AI and data specialisation, and enterprise capacity. Turing puts its acceptance rate at around 1%, which is its own figure. RocketDevs works from a much smaller admitted pool, because only the top 2% of applicants get in, and every shortlist comes with the assessment evidence behind it.

How does RocketDevs match developers compared to Turing?

Turing built its model around AI-driven matching at scale. RocketDevs narrows the pool before matching starts: 6 to 8 hours of assessment per developer and a 98%+ rejection rate mean the shortlist is drawn from people who have already been tested, not ranked from a profile. You interview the shortlist yourself and pick.

What does RocketDevs cost compared to Turing?

RocketDevs publishes flat rates: $9.99/hr Associate, $21.99/hr Mid-senior, $30.99/hr Senior. An Associate full-time is about $1,598 a month. Turing prices per role and per engagement rather than publishing one rate card, so your number depends on the brief. Independent write-ups put Turing rates somewhere between roughly $49 and $200 an hour, but those are third-party estimates, not an official Turing rate card. With RocketDevs the number is the same before and after the call.

How does RocketDevs vet developers?

Every developer we admit completes 6 to 8 hours of assessment covering live coding, system design, code review, and English communication. Over 98% of applicants are rejected. In 2025 we assessed 11,422 developers and placed 223, an acceptance rate of 1.95%, inside our top 2% band.

How much timezone overlap do RocketDevs developers give me?

As much as the developer you choose offers. Overlap is set per profile rather than promised across the whole network: every developer lists their working hours, so you can filter for the daily overlap your standups and incident cover actually need. Engagements are flexible, part-time or full-time, so you can size the hours to the overlap you need, and time is tracked with screenshots every 3 minutes, so the overlap is verifiable rather than asserted.

Can I convert a RocketDevs developer to a direct hire?

Yes, on published terms. You give us prior written notice, agree a reasonable wind-down period for the developer, which may be 30 days, and pay a flat buyout fee by level: USD $5,000 for Level 1 Junior, USD $7,000 for Level 2 Mid-senior, and USD $9,000 for Level 3 Senior, due within 30 days of the direct hire. Level 3 applies if the Talent Outline Plan does not specify a level. The fee is capped and published rather than a percentage of the salary you agree. The cooling off period is twelve months: it covers the developer's work for you plus 12 months afterwards, or 12 months from the date of introduction if you never engage them, and it is limited to the individual developer introduced to you rather than our network as a whole. Once that window passes, no buyout fee is payable at all.
